South Korean YouTuber is Winning the Internet With Flawless Anime Song Covers
Heartthrob YouTuber Raon Lee is best known for her awesome anime covers, especially for her amazing rendition of the song “Silhouette”, the opening theme for “Naruto Shippuden”
The video, which has been viewed over 21 million times since it was uploaded last year, exhibits her incredible ability to sing well in non-native tongues.
According to her online bio, the 26-year-old singer from South Korea has been uploading videos on her channel since October of 2014 where she first uploaded her cover of “Daze”, the opening theme of “Mekakucity Actors”
Her YouTube channel has now racked up millions of views and almost 900,000 subscribers.
On her YouTube videos, she flawlessly matches the vocal range of the song she’s covering to make it sound more authentic. She is able to emulate the kawaii sound as evident on her cover of “PONPONPON”, as well as the pop-rock tone of some of the anime tunes, such as her take on “Rising Hope”.
Lee is also known to sing comfortably in Korean and English and occasionally does collaboration videos with Norwegian YouTuber PelleK.
She also does a bit of vlogging (video + blog) on her channel from time to time.
She has continuously gained fame both at home and abroad, with her online popularity recently getting her into performing live in local gigs as well.
On her Instagram account, where she has more than 122,000 followers, Lee also posts photos from her live performances and some videos from her rehearsals.
